However,manypeopleareconcernedthatanimalsaresufferingunnecessarilyandcruelly.Theydonotbelievethateverynewdrugneedstobetestedonanimals,especiallywiththehugedatabaseofknowledgeandmoderncomputermodels.Theyalsoareworriedthatmanyanimaltestsareineffective,pointingoutthatanydrugshavehadtobewithdrawnfromthemarketdespiteextensivetesting.Theyparticularlyfeelthatanimaltestingshouldnotbeusedfornon-essentialproductssuchascosmetics,shampoos,soaps,andcleaningproducts.Furthermore,somecampaignerswouldliketoseecertaintestsreplacedandmorehumanemethodsused.
Weneedtomakesurethatthemillionsofanimalswhoareusedfortestingnewproductsaretreatedwiththeminimumofsuffering.Althoughsomeanimaltestingmaybeunavoidableatpresent,treatingourfellowcreaturesasmercifullyaspossiblewilldemonstrateourhumanity.（267words）
